Bokbloggsjerka 16-19 Nov: Boktitlar jag går igång på [Titles I like]

Nämn en titel som du ”går igång på”, på ett antingen positivt eller negativt sätt.

Annikas litteratur- och kulturblogg hosts a chain where each week book bloggers answer a question about books and literature. This week's question is: Mention a title that caught your attention, either in a positive or negative way.

Kan inte säga att det finns titlar som jag går igång på på ett negativt sätt, oftast går böcker med ointressanta titlar mina ögon förbi. Men ofta är det titeln som får mig att vilja läsa en bok mer än omslag eller baksidetexten (det gäller när jag browsar på internet eller i bokaffärer). Som jag nämnt i en tidigare jerka, så älskar jag titlar med ord som ”universe”, ”moon” eller andra rymdrelaterade termer i sig.

I can't say that there are titles that catch my negative attention, usually  books that have uninteresting titles just pass me by. Most of the time it's the title that makes me want to pick up a book more than cover or back cover  (this applies to when I'm browsing for books on the internet or in bookstores). As I mentioned in a previous post, I love titles with the word "universe", "moon" or other space-related terms in it.

Jag gillar också enordstitlar… det finns visa ord som jag verkligen blir attraherad av, kan inte förklara varför, och så fort jag ser titeln så måste jag bara läsa boken! Här är några exempel:

Veckans Mest Intressanta Ljudboksläpp [Most Interesting Audiobook Releases]

Egentligen borde jag ha skrivit det här inlägget i måndags, men det blev svårt att hinna med bloggen på grund av allt skolarbete som jag har. Men bättre sent än aldrig som man säger! Nu när jag har lite tid över, kunde jag inte låt bli att skriva om de nya ljudböckerna som släpps (eller släpptes) i veckan eftersom det är många svenska ljudböcker som släpps i morgon! Och det är en spännande blandning av allt från barnböcker till rysare! Kolla bara: 

I actually should have written this post on Monday, but it was hard to keep up with the blog because of all the school work I have. But better late than never, as they say! Now that I have some spare time, I could not refrain from posting about new audiobooks releases this week since there so are many Swedish audiobooks to look out for! This weeks is an exciting mix of everything from children's books to horror! Check it out:

Svenska Författare [Swedish Authors]

Intimus av Jan Arnald uppläst av Björn Granath: ”en psykologisk thriller och kärleksroman som rör sig mellan Australien, Stockholm och Uranus månar”, om Mirra och Ferry som träffas en magisk kväll, men de tappar kontakten med varandra. Tjugo år senare hittar de varandra på internet och försöker pussla ihop vad som egentligen hände den natten… det räcker för mig, vill läsa!

Intimus by Jan Arnald, read by Bjorn Granath: "a psychological thriller and love story that moves between Australia, Stockholm and Uranus moons ". Mirra and Ferry, meet each other one magical night, but they lose touch with each other soon thereafter. Twenty years later they find each other on the internet and decide to try to piece together what really happened that night... say no more, I want to read this!

Vitlöksballaderna av Mo Yan uppläst av Torsten Wahlund: en roman av årets nobelpristagare i litteratur om Kinesiska bönder som gör ett uppror mot myndigheterna för att de har fått odla en typ vitlök som visar sig vara osäljbar. 

Garlic Ballads (The Garlic Ballads) by Mo Yan read by Torsten Wahlund: a novel by this year's Nobellaureate in literature about Chinese farmers who rebel against the authorities that they have been cultivating a type of garlic that turns out to be unsaleable.

Skogsnävan av Karin Brunk Holmqvist, uppläst av Louise Raeder: om ett par som får midsommarbesök av deras son och han flickvän. De är skeptiska till henne för att hon är psykolog… meh, låter lite tråkigt, kanske?

Skogsnävan (The Wood Cranesbill) by Karin Brunk Holmqvist, read by Louise Raeder: about a couple who get a midsummer visit from their son and his girlfriend. They are skeptical about her because she is a psychologist ... meh, sounds a bit boring, perhaps?

Drömmaren och sorgen av Eva-Marie Liffner uppläst av Julia Dufvenius och Per Mattsson: rysare/spökhistoria om en pojkdocka med ett bultande hjärta… låter väldigt spännande, men tyvärr kommer jag aldrig våga lyssna på den.

Drömmaren och sorgen (The dreamer and the sorrow) by Eva-Marie Liffner read by Julia Dufvenius and Per Mattsson: thriller/ghost story about a doll with a beating heart... sounds very exciting, but unfortunately  it sounds too scary.

I den tysta minuten mellan av Viveka Sjögren, uppläst av Johan Svensson: ungdomslitteratur, en bildningsroman om en 14-årig pojke som åker tillbaka till hemlandet Island för sin pappas begravning.

I den tysta minuten mellan (In the quiet minute between) by Viveka Sjögren, read by Johan Svensson: young adult, a Bildungsroman about a 14 year old boy who goes back to his home country of Iceland for his father's funeral.

De Dödas Källa av Mats Wänblad och Lena Ollmark, uppläst av  Peter Öberg: barnbok och tredje boken om den mystiska staden Krabbsjögrund, en rysare om ett par ungdomar som upptäcker källan till ett evigt liv…

De Dödas Källa (The Deads' Source) by Mats Wänblad and Lena Ollmark, read by Peter Öberg: a children's book and the third book about the mystical town of Krabbsjögrund, a thriller about a couple of teenagers who discover the source of eternal life...

Flickan och presidenten av Petter Lidbeck, uppläst av Peter Öberg: barnbok om utomjordingar som besöker jorden och landar i ett fattigt kvarter, presidenten åker dit för att möta dem, men de har redan bestämt att de hellre vill prata med en flicka som bor under en kartong. 

Flickan and presidenten (The girl and the president) by Petter lidbeck, read by Peter Öberg: a children's book about aliens visiting Earth and they happen to land in a poor neighborhood. The president goes there to meet them, but they've already decided that they would rather talk to a girl who lives in a cardboard.

Fatta eld av Suzanne Collins med Rebecka Hemse: dystopisk ungdomslitteratur och uppföljaren till bästsäljaren Hungerspelen, nu på svenska som ljudbok!

Pesten av Albert Camus, uppläst av Reine Brynolfsson: en läsvärd klassisker!

Femtio nyanser av mörker av E. L. James uppläst av Julia Dufvenius.

Drama city av George P Pelecanos uppläst av Stefan Sauk.

Syndafallet av Ruth Rendell, uppläst av Jan Weldekranz.

Engleska Ljudböcker [English Audiobooks]: Young Adult

Ashes of Twilight av Kassy Tayle: dystopisk litteratur om en stad som byggdes för att försvara Englands kungafamilj från en komet. Efter 200 år Wren och hans kompis hur världen ser ut utanför stadens kupol … påminner mig lite om City of Ember böckerna, vill läsa!

Ashes of Twilight by Kassy Tayle: a dystopian novel about a city that was built to defend England's royal family from a comet. After 200 years, Wren and his friend start to wonder how the world looks like outside the city's dome ... reminds me of City of Ember books, want to read!

The Soul Seekers- Echo av Alyson Noel: andra boken i en serie som handlar om en tjej som kan navigera mellan de levande och de dödas rike… inget för mig. 

The Soul Seekers- Echo by Alyson Noel: second book in a series about a girl who can navigate between the living and the land of the dead ... not for me.

Princess Academy-Palace of Stone av Shannon Hale: andra boken i en serie där landets präster har kommit fram till att prinsens framtida fästmö bor i en by; därför måste alla tjejer där undervisas i hur man är en princessa innan prinsen träffar dem. Man följer en av tjejerna i byn.

Princess Academy- Palace of Stone by Shannon Hale: second book in a series where the country's priests have come to the conclusion that the prince's future fiancé lives in one village; as a result all girls are taught how to be a princess before the prince meets them. We follow the life of one of the girls in the village.

Engelska Ljudböcker [English Audiobooks]: Fiction

Dear Life: Stories av Alice Munro: en novellsamling om avskedar, begynnelser, olyckor, hemkomster och andra saker som gör vardagslivet extraordinär.

Life Among Giants av Bill Roorbach: om David som förlorar sina föräldrar när han är sjutton, och tillsammans Sylphide (en ballerina) försöker han under årens lopp avslöja vem som mördade hans föräldrar.

Bokbloggsjerka 9-12 Nov: Guilty Pleasure

Har du en ”guiltypleasure” eller en favorit som eventuellt kan förvåna oss jerkare?

Annikas litteratur- och kulturblogg hosts a chain where each week book bloggers answer a question about books and literature. This week's question is: Do you have a guilty pleasure or a favorite that might surprise us jerkare?

Hmmm, det var ingen lätt fråga eftersom jag inte kan komma på något jag skäms över i mina läsvanor… men att läsa fanfiction är det närmaste en guilty pleasure som jag kan komma med, vilket kanske inte är så förvånansvärt heller. Jag älskar fanfiction om anime, böcker – och till och med TV-serier— som jag av någon anledning tycker är legendariska: eg. Sailor Moon, Stolthet och Fördom, Goda Omen, The Big Bang Theory och några till. Det jag helst läser är så kallade ”fluffiga” berättelser, och allra bäst är det om handlingen tar platts i ett alternative universe utanför storyns vanliga händelser. Visst kan det ta tid att hitta något bra och värt att följa i fanfictionträsket, men det är lite som att fynda på loppis— hittar man något bra så blir man ganska glad. ^.^

Hmmm, it was not an easy question because I can't think of anything I'm ashamed of in my reading habits... but reading fanfiction is the closest to a guilty pleasure that I can come up with, which, perhaps, is not so surprising either. I love fanfiction about anime, books -- and even TV series-- that for some reason I find to be legendary: eg. Sailor Moon, Pride and Prejudice, Good Omens, The Big Bang Theory and a few others. I prefer reading so-called "fluff" stories, and the best such stories usually take place in an alternative universe outside the original story's main plot. Sure, it may take some time to find something good and worth following in fanfiction swamp, but it's a bit like finding a bargain at a flea market-- if you come across something, you become pretty happy. ^.^

En Rolig Enkät [A Fun Survey]

Tänkte vara med och svara på en trevlig liten enkät som har poppat upp på bokbloggar (bl.a. hos Pocketlover, Unga böcker, och Unga vuxna) de senaste dagarna.  ^.^

Senaste böckerna jag läste: Har just avslutat Lemony Snickets A Series of Unfortunate Events:The Ersatz Elevator (Syskonen Baudelaires olycksaliga liv: Det hemliga hisschaktet) som är bok 6 av 13, en väldigt mysig bok att lyssna på även och det handlar om olyckliga barn och elaka, opportunistiska vuxna.

Böcker jag läser just nu: My Dirty Little Book of Stolen Time av Liz Jensen, och O Passado Que Seremos av Inês Botelho (en av mina tre på tre böcker). Jensens bok är väldigt underhållande, jag tycker bra om den, men har inte lyckats komma in i Botelhos bok ännu— handlingen är för långsam och jag tror att formatet jag läser boken på (e-book på datorn) är den största orsaken till att den är så seg. Jag har normalt sätt inga problem med att läsa facklittetur på datorn, men jag anar att jag har svårt att leva mig in i en skönlitterär bok på det sättet. *suck*

Böcker jag ser fram emot: Jag ska dela upp den här frågan i tre delar: Böcker jag ser fram emot att påbörja idag eller imorgon- Lemony Snickets ASeries of Unfortunate Events: The Vile Village (Syskonen Baudelaires olycksaliga liv: Den bedrövliga byn). Böcker jag ser fram emot att läsa inom en snar framtid- A Verdadeira Invasão do Marcianos (Den Verkliga Invasionen Från Mars) av João Barreiros, beställde boken från förlaget i Portugal i helgen och jag längtar till att få läsa den. Böcker jag ser fram emot att läsa när de kommer ut- Across the Universe: Shades ofEarth av Beth Revis som kommer ut i januari 2013, ska bli kul att äntligen få reda på alla hemligeter kring skeppet Godspeed!

Senaste filmerna jag såg: Skyfall som troligtvis många andra gjorde i helgen. Ett gaska okej film, även om den var lite för lång för min smak, men jag gillar att Daniel Craigs Bond håller på att utvecklas mer och mer till den klassiska Bondkaraktären för varje film som kommer ut.  

Filmer jag ser fram emot: Berättelsen om Pi och Hobbit:En Oväntad Resa!!!

Senaste TV-serierna jag såg: 2 Broke Girls och How I Met Your Mother— kommer man någonsin att få reda på hur Ted träffar barnens mor? Jag anar att om det händer så kommer det antagligen att vara ett antiklimax… men jag gillar Barney och Lily så jag forsätter att kolla på serien.

TV-serier jag längtar efter: Leverage, Girls, Game of Thrones och The Newsroom. 

Musik jag lyssnar på just nu: —Det är lite pinsamt att behöva skriva detta— GangmanStyle (jag skämmer ut min kära sambo genom att göra hästdansen lite då och då t.ex. när vi går upp/ner för trappor och på vägen till och från bilen. Jag borde inse att jag faktiskt är vuxen nu och därför inte borde tramsa mig på det sättet, men det är så kul!)… just nu lyssnar jag också på I Love It av Icona Pop, SomebodyThat I Used To Know av Gotye, CamaroAmarelo av Munhoz & Mariano, och Eyeof the Tiger av Survivor.  

Musik jag ser fram emot: Har hört att Aerosmith justsläppt en ny platta! Det är deras första platta sedan 2001, Aerosmith är nog mitt favoritband så jag är väldigt nyfiken och peppad!

I thought I'd answer this nice little survey that has popped up on different book blogs lately (including Pocktloveer, Unga böcker, and Unga vuxna).^.^

The most recent books I've read: I've just finished Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Ersatz Elevator, which is book 6 in a series of 13. It's a cozy read despite being about unhappy children at the mercy of nasty, opportunistic adults.

Books I'm reading right now: My Dirty Little Book of Stolen Time by Liz Jensen, and O Passado Que Seremos (The Past That We Will Become) by Inês Botelho. Jensen's book is very entertaining and I really like it, but haven't managed to get into the Botelho's book yet— I think the plot is too slow and the format in which I'm reading it in (the e-book format Epub on your computer) is not helping this books case at all. Normally, I have no problems reading non fiction on the computer, but I suspect that I'm it find hard to live myself into a fictional story that way. *sigh*

Books I'm looking forward to: I'll split this question into three parts- 

- Books I'm looking forward to start today or tomorrow - Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Vile Village. 

- Books I'm looking forward to reading in the near future - A Verdadeira Invasão dos Marcianos (The Real Martian Invasion) by João Barreiros, which I've ordered from the publisher in Portugal this weekend and I can't wait to read it. 

- Books I'm looking forward to reading when they come out - Shades of Earth by Beth Revis coming out in January 2013, it will be great to finally find out all secrets about Godspeed and its people!

Most recent movie I watched: Skyfall, like so many other people did this weekend. It was an okay movie, although it was a little too long for my taste, but I do like that Daniel Craig's Bond is evolving to become more and more like the classic Bond-character for every movie that comes out.

Movies I'm looking forward to: Life of Pi and The Hobbit:An Unexpected Journey!

Latest TV series I watched: 2 Broke Girls and How I Met Your Mother- will we ever find out how Ted hits the children's mother? I suspect that if that happens, it will probably be a huge anticlimax ... but I like Barney and Lily, so I keep on watching the series.

TV series I'm waiting for: Leverage , Girls, Game of Thrones and The Newsroom.

Music I'm listening to right now: It's a little embarrassing to have to write this, but— Gangman Style (I keep embarrass my boyfriend by doing the horse dance from time to time eg when we go up/down the stairs and on our way to and from the car. I should realize that I'm actually an adult now, and stop goofing around in such a ridiculous way, but it's just so much fun!)... right now I'm also listening to I Love It by Icona Pop, Somebody that I Used To Know by Gotye , Camaro Amarelo by Munhoz & Mariano, and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.

New music I'm looking forward to: I have heard that Aerosmith just released a new album! It is their first album since 2001 , Aerosmith 's probably my favorite band so I'm very curious and psyched!
